General Plumbing Work
For general plumbing work we will normally provide you with an estimate on request.
This will typically include the cost of labour and the expected materials, plus VAT.
For minor works typically taking up to 1 hour, our charge is £120 including VAT, plus the VAT inclusive cost of any materials required.
Boiler Servicing
If this is the first time we have examined your boiler then the cost may vary depending on what we find.
Boilers are complicated machines working in a harsh environment, wth igniters, gas burners, safety sensors and printed circuit boards all coping with heat.
If this is the first time we have examined your boiler then we can prepare an written estimate of the cost for labour, parts and VAT.
Typical Boiler Servicing
This will include:
- Safety check for gas leaks at your meter, pipework and boiler
- Improve the gas flame by cleaning dust and debris from the burner
- Check the ignition system, cleaning or adjusting the pilot light/electrode
- Improve heating efficiency by cleaning the main heat exchanger
- Test the flue gases to check on burner efficiency
- Adjust the gas rate to save gas and money
- Safety check that seals and gaskets are gas and water-tight
- Test for deadly carbon monoxide leaks from the boiler and flue
- Optionally, add a chemical inhibitor to the heating system to protect your boiler from rust attacks*
Full Strip-Down Boiler Service
In a full strip-down service (typically required every 5 years) we also:
- Clean the combustion chamber and check the burner and clean the baffles (if fitted)
- Replace the combustion chamber seals
- Replace the ingnition leads and igniters

*2 Gas Safety Inspection includes boiler and 1 additional appliance, either gas hob, gas cooker or gas fire. For a back boiler plus a gas fire or free-standing gas fire add £120.00.
*3 Assumes we perform any corrective work, otherwise full fee applies again.
*4 Additional appliances (e.g. boiler service, gas hob/fire and Gas Safety Inspection) at additional cost (please ask us to quote).
